Solid Rock Baptist Church History
A Church Building on a Solid Rock
Matthew 7:24-25
Solid Rock Baptist Church was established on February 16, 1989 by Reverend A. G. Preuitt as Founder and Pastor. The congregation consisted of 12 members. On July 31, 1992, Reverend A. G. Preuitt passed away. Chairman Deacon Lionel Smith, with other faithful members continued the vision and was able to purchase 3.5 acres of land in the city of Chesapeake where they were able to convert an existing building on the land into a place of worship. There was also a house on the land which is still used today as the church's rental property. In 2000 the church began building a new sanctuary which was completed in 2005. In 2010 First Steps Preparatory Academy which provides Christian Education to Youth preparing them for First grade was established with Mrs. Shawnese Harden as Director. In September 2018, the church voted and elected Reverend Andrea D. Roby as Pastor. She is the 7th Pastor to serve at Solid Rock and the 1st Woman Pastor. The Church continues to actively serve the community with youth programs, training worships and senior/widow assistance. The membership and attendance is constantly growing under the guidance of Pastor Roby and we look forward to God's continued blessings and enrichments.

Statement Of Faith/Core Values
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. We believe that he lived, he was crucified, he was buried and he rose again and now sits on the right hand of God, the Father. Christ’s resurrection demonstrates God’s completion of his plan to reconcile his relationship with humankind providing them an avenue to have eternal life through faith in Christ.
